We have a unique wedding and need a variety of services and products to meet our requirements. Can you provide us with the service and products we need?

  • Yes. Although we have several "off the shelf" packages of service and products which often meet the needs of our clients we can custom design the coverage to meet your specific needs.

We need a custom coverage, does it cost more than one of the ready made packages?

  • No, we will use exactly the same proceedure to design and price your coverage as we do for our off the shelf packages. Clearly a twelve hour coverage will cost more than a six hour coverage if everything else remains the same. However, the more we include in your coverage, the better your per unit cost.

We like Black and White photography. Can we have some of our coverage in black and white?

  • Yes. we will be happy to provide color, black and white and sepia images of some or all of the photographs of your wedding upon request at no additional cost.

What is your policy if we decide to cancel your services after we have signed a contract?>

  • If you decide that you don't want us to photograph your wedding after you have signed our agreement, we will promptly refund all funds paid, no questions asked. See our 100% money back guarantee section of this web site for further information. It is the way we would like to be treated, if we were in the same position.

What is your biggest problem in wedding photography?

  • Brides, grooms, friends, and family are late or inattentive.

Will you come to the rehearsal?

  • Yes, we can come to the rehearsal and photograph it. We can also attend any other event you wish. Remember the bride and groom may choose what services and products will be provided.

I am several inches taller than my prospective spouse. Can anything be done to minimize the difference?

  • There are several things that can be done. The relative heights of individuals can be changed by properly positioning the feet. In addition, the position of individuals at the ceremony site and camera angle can minimize the problem.

I will be severely overweight the day of my wedding. Can anything be done about that?

  • Of course! I like chocolate more than exercise myself. The approach here is to de-emphasize the physical problem and emphasize the best features. This is one reason why a wedding photographer should be trained in portraiture, as well as, photojournalism.

How many people do you bring to a wedding?

  • With our Prestige and Contemporary coverages, within the local Washington metro area, Joe will be the principle photographer and at least one support associate will be schdeuled to be at your wedding. If you wish, we can also have additional photographers. Our Demitasse service is for small and short weddings and are photographed by Joe without associates. An inexpensive way to get some great images to remember your wedding.

What is the difference between the professional digital equipment and the amateur formats?

  • Amateur cameras are much cheaper and lighter than corresponding professional digital equipment which produces files in RAW format. RAW format permits a variety of professional corrections that are beyond the scope of JPG formated files. Professional digital cameras have larger sensors which in turn produces clearer images with greater detail resulting in larger files. One can choose what part of a professional digital image to use for the final print. For example, if the principle subject is off center, it can usually be corrected with professional equipment, but not with the amateur equipment. Finally, professional lenses are designed and built with greater precision to provide images of outstanding quality.

Do you use professional digital equipment?

  • Yes. Both primary and backup equipment is Canon professional digital equipment. It is among the best professional digital equipment made and everything is interchangeable.

Photography is an unregulated profession. Do you have any qualifications as a photographer?

  • Yes. I am a Certified Professional Photographer - PPA Certified. This requires passing a written examination in photography, personal and professional background checks and evaluation of a photographers work from ten different professional assignments. After we meet with you, we have appointments with other photographers. Will you call us if someone else is interested in our date?

  • No. That is inappropriate. We do not pressure a perspective client to make an quick decision, nor is it appropriate to tell another client that we must check with someone else first. We have been photographing weddings since 1963 and often get calls from siblings and children of brides and grooms we have worked with over the years. They are familiar with us and our work and will often book their wedding with a credit card over the phone.
